Hi Everyone-
I had intended to write a letter at Christmastime to send out to you all, but I ran out of time. So, Happy Groundhog day!!
This past year has been one of many changes in our lives. Our biggest and best change is that we welcomed Daniel Timothy into our family in September. He has completed our family and is loved by both of his sisters (and of course his parents too).
In October, I became an educational consultant for Usborne books and I've been doing homeshows and also working with a few schools. I am really enjoying it so far. I am still working part time at Shaws and spending most of my time with the three kids.
Ian just began a new job this week. He is now the supervisor of the GMP lab for CIL. We are excited about this new opportunity in his life. He will be working closer to home which is an added bonus.
The girls are growing like weeds (or as they say in the Netherlands, like cabbages). Libby started preschool in September and is absolutely LOVING it.
Sarah and Libby gave up their cribs this year and Libby is now (finally) potty trained. Sarah is close behind and we hope to only have one in diapers soon.
We hope that you all are well! THe new posts may continue onto a second (older posts) page as I updated all the way back to September tonight.

SNOW
So after all the snow we had in January, it snowed again Feb 1st and 2nd. It was now time to shovel the deck and the roof of the playroom. Here are a few pictures taken Feb 2 and 3. The snow is too deep to play in the yard, so after the deck was mostly shoveled it became a good/safe place to play!
This is Libby's "castle" that she built by filling a bucket with snow to make "bricks". She then decorated it with food coloring in water.

January 2011
This month we spent too much time inside, but it seemed like everytime we turned around it was snowing again. We ended up having the 4th snowiest January on record this year! (That dates back to the 1880's I believe).

December
December was spent preparing for and celebrating Christmas.
We went to one of the celebrations in town. Sarah was TERRIFIED of Santa, but did allow us to stand near him. Libby was brave enough to sit in his sleigh with him. This family picture made the front page of the local newspaper. The open house was fun. Not only did we visit Santa, but the girls had their faces painted and received some other goodies along the way.
After setting up my manger and the kid's manger, this cracked me up. Libby decided that we didn't have enough animals to keep baby Jesus warm. So, of course, dinosaurs and rubber duckies should help out too. And if the three kings can visit him, then so can the princesses.
The girls helped to pick out and decorate our tree. They were very excited about Christmas this year! What fun!

Sarah got brave and for the first time, she sat on Santa's lap! When he asked her what she wanted for Christmas, she asked for clothes for her little brother. (I guess she figured her letter to Santa had her covered, but Daniel didn't write a letter.....) 8-)
One evening when my mother was babysitting, the girls worked VERY hard to prepare for Santa. They explained to my mom that they had to empty all the shelves in order to make room for all the new toys that Santa would bring them. (Aim high, right?!!) So, they stacked every toy, book, lego etc on the couch and then asked for blankets to cover it all up so that Santa couldn't see all the toys they already had!

November started off with Daniel learning to smile! I'd forgotten how hard you have to work to get those first smiles. What a reward!!
