Strawberry Jam

Lately, I've really been enjoying homemade strawberry jam on ice cream. But, when I used up the last of our jam reserve the other day, it was time for a "Murphy girl adventure"! This morning the girls and I went strawberry picking and this afternoon Libby and I made jam! YUM! I think 9 pints should get us through the last 3 months of this pregnancy with enough left over for Dadda's visit in the fall! 8-)

Father's Day

Libby and Sarah baked a special cake for Daddy's special day. They even picked out the colors and frosted it themselves! Yum!

Santa's Village

Last week we spent several days in the North Conway area on "vacation" or as Libby would say "Bacation". She cracked Ian and I up as we were driving through North Conway one day. We drove past a blow up skeleton on a real motorcycle outside of a bike shop. I pointed it out to the girls thinking it was a good distraction. Libby got this puzzled look on her face and then announced to us "But, skeletons can't ride motocycles because they don't actually have bums." It's hard to argue with that logic! :)
We spent a very fun day with the Doody's at Santa's Village.

(You won't find Sarah anywhere near Santa as for some reason, she is terrified of him)...but the other three were thrilled to visit Santa in his home!

First day of Vacation June 2010

We met Ian's cousin Dawn and her family up in the White Mountains for a few days. The girls really enjoyed spending time with their cousins. The 4 of them are all within two years of each other in age. The oldest just turned 4 and Sarah will be 2 in a couple of weeks...
Guess who we saw???? As Sarah would say "Baby Bear, Mommy....we saw Baby Bear!!" We are still hearing about this from Sarah a week later. 8-) And may I add, we saw this bear in broad daylight very close to a whole bunch of tourists wandering around!

We decided to check out the Children's Museum in North Conway. It is well worth a visit if any of you should find yourselves in that area this summer. It was not an easy task to convince our two when it was time to leave.

June 2010

Sarah has recently become quite the chatter box. Two of her favorite phrases are "Me do it!" and "I keep it!". She is quite strong willed and is testing the waters lately in many ways. In addition, she has also recently discovered that she likes to talk on the phone. She is quite animated as she babbles on and on to whoever is on the other end....often times most of what she says is still not fully coherent to the rest of us listening, but it is very cute.
We attended a concert in the park. The girls LOVED it!! They were dancing and having a great time with some of their friends from the moms club.

Sarah caught the eye of a newspaper reporter at the concert and got herself in the local paper....shades, pacifier and all!
